This is the Original Design Award winning D.H. Russell Canadian Belt Knife, in production since 1957.
It is the finished version created by the knifemaker Rudolf Grohmann and Deane Russell who met in the 1950's and teamed up to create a truly Canadian outdoor knife. Through trial and testing with hunters and trappers they settled on this design which became the first knife in the Grohmann product line. (The shape is reminiscent of an Atlantic salmon)
The knife designs have been copied by many different companies over the years but the Grohmann is still in production, with the same integrity of materials and construction, after 60 years.
Grohmann Knives always means: high quality materials combined with outstanding designs and talented craftspeople; handmade in the traditional way in Nova Scotia, one of the Maritime provinces in Eastern Canada.
