#3 Boat Knife

The No.3 Model Boat Knife is variously described as a Boat, Army or Yachtsman knife depending on the blade and sheath styles chosen. It is a general purpose knife with a comfortable, offset and naturally non-slip triangular handle shape.

The basic R3S model includes the following:

• rosewood handle
• 4" high carbon stainless blade 
• quaility handmade leather sheath

• overall tool length 8 1/2" 

• optional handles:
• staghorn handle (model H3S)
• Xtra Resinwood handle (X3S)

• optional blades:
• Carbon steel (model R3C)
• Flat Grind (R3SF)
• Partial serration (R3SWM) with pocket-sheath and marlin spike shackler tool

• optional sheaths:
• overlap sheath (model R3SA)
• sheath with marlin spike in a pocket (R3SWM-rosewood or X3SWMiXtra Resinwood handle)

The Canadian Coast Guard (model R3SWM) has a partially serrated blade and leather sheath with a pocket containing a marlin spike/shackler tool. It is particularly useful for boating, canoeing or sailing, dealing with knots, cutting ropes, etc. and the shape of the handle makes it less likely to slip from your hand. 

The Canadian Armed Forces prefer the standard high-carbon stainless blade and overlap sheath (model R3SA) for their "Jump" version which they have had in use since 1964.
